Professor from the Military Technical Academy detained
Agents form the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok detained professor Mariusz F. Vice Rector for Development of the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw and Piotr S. - employee of IT Department of this university.
In a multithreaded investigation carried out by the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok and by Podlaski Terrain Unit of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office - threads of corrupt conduct of public officials in state institutions, including the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw were analyzed.
Agents form the Regional Office of the CBA in Białystok detained professor Mariusz F. Vice Rector for Development of the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw and Piotr S. - employee of IT Department of this university.
The findings of the investigation indicate, that the detained men concluded apparent contracts, illegally usurping funds granted for research projects carried out at the Military Technical Academy in Warsaw. The officers searched their offices in WAT securing data carriers and documentary evidence of their illegal activities.
At the prosecutor's office, professor Mariusz F. was charged with negative managing of property to the detriment of WAT for over 210 thousand PLN. Both detainees were charged for crimes against the credibility of documents and obstructing the investigation. WAT employees have been suspended in their duties, and additionally Mariusz F. will pay 30 thousand PLN bail.
