Fake certificates under the scrutiny of the CBA
Fictitious training of security guards, certificates confirming untruth – officers of the Central Anti-corruption Bureau detained 4 people who may have participated in criminal activities. The investigation is supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Świdnica.
Officers of the CBA Branch Office in Wrocław detained three men and a woman in Wrocław and the Ząbkowice and Wrocław districts, who were employed in personal and property protection agencies.
As it was established, the detainees, acting jointly and in agreement with other people, were involved in organizing, obtaining and paying for certificates that were supposed to confirm the completion of advanced training courses for qualified security guards. Such training is required by the provisions of the Act on the Protection of Persons and Property, and certificates of completion of training or course are presented to the relevant provincial Police commander.
The investigation findings indicate that in fact the training was not conducted, and the certificates confirming untruth were used to extend the rights of security guards. The criminal activities took place in 2018-2019.
The detainees were brought to the District Prosecutor's Office in Świdnica, where they were charged with certifying false information in order to gain financial benefits, and accepting and granting financial benefits to a person holding a public office. So far, over 170 people have been charged in the investigation.
