Detention for a prison officer
The CBA detained a shift manager of a detention ward in Bydgoszcz. He used a special price list of illegal “services” for the detainees. The man was presented with allegations of bribery. He was remanded in custody.
The CBA and the Prosecutor's Office investigators found that the detained officer had a special price list for his “services” - a one-month earlier release cost PLN 1000, and a one-day leave - PLN 100-150. Early conditional release was a much more expensive item in the “price list”. A fast food or a restaurant visit during the convoy of the detainee could also be bought. Infringing the provisions of the Law on Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions, the detainees were allowed to contact third persons and purchase goods which they could bring to the premises of the detention ward.
According to the findings of the investigators, the officer cooperated with one of the detainees, who acted as a middleman in running errands.
Current allegations include the acceptance of a financial advantage in the amount of PLN 36 thousand.
The court followed the prosecution’s request to remand the dismissed prison officer in custody.
The investigation has been carried out by the Regional Office of the CBA in Bydgoszcz under the supervision of the local District Prosecutor's Office.
