The agents from the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice detained 8 people in a case concerning, inter alia, an organized criminal group aimed at committing offenses consisting in invoking influences in the special services of SKW (Military Counterintelligence Service), ABW (Internal Security Agency), CBA (Central Anticorruption Bureau), state institutions, the Police, ministries, customs and tax offices and by creating belief about the existence of such influences, including mediation in settling matters in return for financial benefits or their promise.

For example, the detainees were to suspend and not to carry out any control activities by the tax authorities against the company, as well as to provide the company with so-called "protective umbrella" of the services in exchange for the employment of the persons indicated. In another case, they caused the aggrieved person an impression and belief, that for many months he worked for the Polish state - but in fact he worked, and he acted for the sake of a criminal group.

According to the CBA findings, the group operated from July 2015 to December 2017. Among those detained are persons claiming to be special services officers - Military Counter-Intelligence Service and Internal Security Agency, who were confirming the victims’ belief and those who created and led this criminal group.
