Extortion of more than 2 million zł from PARP

Activities of the Regional Office of the CBA in Krakow brought results. The two presidents from the company "MSF Laboratory” were detained (detentions took place in Warsaw and Krakow). They were to create an antivirus program. As a result, for over PLN 2 million extorted from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, a decoy software was created.

The president of the MSF Laboratory and the former president of the management board of the company were detained by agents from the Regional Office of the CBA in Cracow. Former president of the management board, in addition to his IT skills, is an internal auditor and expert in the field of accounting inscribed in the court list. Men received funding from the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development on the basis of contracts for co-financing for the creation of an anti-virus program.

In the course of the investigation, the officers determined, that the detained persons from the very beginning did not intend to create appropriate software, which would protect computers against malware.

The PARP (Polish Agency for Enterprise Development) received unreliable applications for co-financing of the project. As it turned out, most of the documents contained false information, which was supposed to testify, among others, about the completion of software development.

Written declarations were to document the costs specified in payment applications related to the implementation of co-financed projects. Presented documentation misled funding institutions. Thus, the detained CEOs extorted from PARP over PLN 2 million in funding for the IT project.

The persons detained by the CBA will be transferred to the district prosecutor's office in Cracow, where they will hear charges of fraud and extortion of a significant amount of money to the detriment of PARP.
