They took a bribe of 250,000 zlotys, they were caught red-handed
Actions of investigators from Cracow allowed detaining four people. Corruption in tenders for attractive properties situated, inter alia, near Wawel, was interrupted. Intermediaries invoking influences in the local government were caught red-handed in the act of accepting hundreds of thousands of zlotys bribe.
The Cracow officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Krakow Division II detained 4 people. Two middlemen, a businessman and a Cracow doctor. Two of them (Robert F., Małgorzata P. - middlemen) invoked influences in the local government administration. During the investigation, it turned out that both in exchange for bribes undertook the intermediation in arranging the lease or purchase of apartments and commercial premises. All properties offered by them are located in attractive parts of Cracow. Near the market and around Wawel.
Robert F. and his accomplice Małgorzata P. invoked repeatedly influences in the city office, units subordinate to the city office in Cracow and the Marshal Office of the Malopolska province. They undertook mediation to fix a tender for the sale of a tenement house in Cracow in favor of a local businessman. In return, they demanded 1.3 million zlotys as financial benefit. As a result, they received 150,000, which allegedly were intended for bribes for public officials. This is not the end. Another 100 thousand - the bribing couple accepted from the same businessman, for bid rigging of the next tender for an attractive property, announced by the Treasury Department of the Cracow City Hall. A moment later, agents from the Cracow CBA Regional Office detained three people entangled in the corrupt practice. They were detained at one of the restaurants near Wawel. As part of this case, a Cracow doctor was also detained. In exchange for the financial benefit granted to Małgorzata P. and Robert F., the man was to obtain help from them in the matter of the allocation of a communal flat. Małgorzata P and Robert F. invoked influences they supposedly had in local government institutions.
The agents searched the detainee's apartments and premises in local government institutions - the evidence related to the case was secured there. All detainees were transferred to the district prosecutor's office in Cracow, where they were charged with corruption. Further detentions are planned in this matter. The investigation is ongoing and multithreaded.
