Five persons detained. Bribes in the amount of one million zlotys
At least 1 million zlotys were received by the employees of a company in exchange for the settlement of tenders in favor of the entrepreneurs.
Five persons have been detained by the officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau from Poznań. Among the detainees are: Director of the Trade Department in one of the companies specializing in the drilling, sales specialist from this company and three entrepreneurs.
The proceedings, based on materials collected by the CBA, concern the acceptance of material benefits by the company's employees. As it has been determined in the course of the investigation, the men received in 2016-2018 at least 1 million zlotys in exchange for the settlement of tenders in favor of the detained entrepreneurs. Public procurement concerned, inter alia, delivery and maintenance of stock of spare parts, purchase of protective and work clothing, and protective footwear.
Everything seems to indicate that the bribes were transferred by the entrepreneurs to bank accounts of companies especially established for this purpose, as a payment for alleged services that were not actually ordered and provided. Fictitious companies belonged to one of the businessmen.
All detainees will be transferred to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Poznań, where they will be charged with managerial bribery.
