Million losses of several municipalities. More detainees
The material collected by the officers of the CBA let them detain more persons involved in the bid rigging which resulted in the fact that several municipalities in Poland disposed of their finances unfavorably.
The agents of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau have detained in Wrocław and Oława two more persons acting in an organised criminal group and involved in corruption practice. There were employed in entities gathered around the entrepreneur previously detained in connection with the case.
The findings of the investigators indicate that the detainees offered to the authorities of the municipalities of Panki, Herby and Opatów help in obtaining funds from the European Union in exchange for winning tenders for training for schools and kindergartens.
The group's activity led to losses of local government officials reaching almost PLN 3 million.
The detainees will be charged in the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice.
The first detentions in connection with this case took place on 1st October this year. At that time, the officers of the Bureau detained 9 persons.
