Joint actions of the CBA and the CBŚP. Another detainee
The officers of the CBA and the CBŚP have detained another person involved in a practice of extorting VAT tax when trading in fuels.
The criminal practice consisted in using VAT invoices attesting untruth regarding alleged trade in fuels. Invoices with a value of at least PLN 146 million were issued by domestic and foreign business entities. As a result of the group's operation, the State Treasury lost over PLN 33 million.
The perpetrator also took actions that were aimed at preventing or significantly impeding the determination of the origin of the funds obtained in this way.
The detention is a continuation of a joint action of the CBA and the CBŚP carried out in September this year, as a result of which 7 persons were detained, including the head of a criminal group. The court ordered against 6 detainees pre-trial detention.
The investigation is conducted under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Wrocław. The case is still developmental.
