Notification to the Prosecutor’s Office – this is the result of completion of the CBA’s pre-control analysis at the National Museum in Poznań
Control Proceedings Division of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Poznań from 19.11.2018 to 19.09.2019 conducted a pre-control analysis in the scope of preparing and conducting a public procurement "Supply of showcases and exhibition furniture for the Museum of Applied Arts – Branch of the National Museum in Poznań" and a complementary public order "Execution and installation of display showcases and other exhibition furniture at the Museum of Applied Arts – among them showcases containing multimedia along with these multimedia".
In the course of the control it has been established, that there has been a violation of the principles of fair competition and equal treatment of contractors. In addition, it was established that in the certificate of acceptance of the public contract untruth has been attested, i.e. the receipt of the entire subject of the contract was confirmed despite it was not entirely performed. Thus, the guarantee period for the subject of the contract was shortened, and the National Museum lost over PLN 2 million due to failure to calculate the contractual penalty due to late performance of the contract.
Based on the results of the pre-control analysis, the CBA sent to the District Prosecutor's Office in Poznań a notification of a justified suspicion of committing a crime by the Deputy Director of the National Museum in Poznań, who, by abusing his powers, caused great damage to property and by an employee of the Museum of Applied Arts, Branch of the National Museum in Poznań, who attested untruth in tender documents.
