Joint operation of the CBA, Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW), and the Military Gendarmerie. Corruption offences during equipment purchase for the Army

The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Poznań, jointly with the Military Gendarmerie, have detained 3 individuals - the presidents of partnerships in Gdańsk and Warsaw, and a former officer of the Polish Army.

The suspicions relate to irregularities in the tender for the purchase of equipment and services for the needs of the Army, which was detrimental to the economic interest of the Polish Armed Forces.

The evidence was gathered by the officers of the Military Counterintelligence Service (SKW). The investigation revealed that the tendering procedures between the soldiers responsible for carrying them out and the businessmen had been subjected to corruption offences, as a result of which the terms of the tender were disclosed. One of the detainees, in exchange for bribes, and abusing his powers, provided information that constituted a professional secrecy, and thus enabled a favourable position for some bidders in the military tenders.

The detentions took place in Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, and Warsaw.

All the detainees were presented with charges in the Military Department of the District Prosecutor's Office in Gdansk.
