Detentions in connection with Municipal Water and Sewage Works (MPWiK). Corruption and tender rigging
The CBA Regional Office in Warsaw, jointly with the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, have detained 2 persons suspected of tender rigging.
The detainees are the deputy head of the exploitation channel network at the MPWiK in Krakow and the former head of the TSU (Networks and Services) department at the PWiK in Przemyśl. They are suspected of rigging tenders in 2018 in favour of the company that provided the MPWiK in Kraków and the PWIK in Przemyśl with a set for pipes and ducts inspection as well as a specialist car for duct cleaning.
These are further detentions in the ongoing investigation related to the disclosed corruption offences, in which in July 2019 the director of a municipal company in Warsaw heard charges.
Now charges have been presented against the suspects. The prosecutor has applied non-custodial preventive measures against the detainees.
