The CBA inspection at the Gaz-System company

On 21 October 2020, the officers of the Inspection Division of the CBA Regional Office in Rzeszów commenced an inspection at the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., under the title "Control of selected procedures specified by the provisions of law for taking and executing decisions on granting and executing public contracts and asset disposal by the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A., in the years 2012 - 2016, in connection with the investment in the extension of the Rembelszczyzna junction as part of the construction of the DN700 MOP 8.4 MPA high-pressure gas pipeline between Rembelszczyzna and Gustorzyn, together with the supporting infrastructure".
The company under control is the national transmission system operator in Poland, responsible for natural gas transmission, which is of particular economic and defence importance. The CBA control relates to an investment project for the expansion of the Rembelszczyzna junction, carried out in the years 2012 - 2016, as part of the construction of a high-pressure gas pipeline. The control activities will focus on verifying the amendments incorporated in the said contract, both in the form of replacement solutions and concluding additional contracts in off-tender modes. The CBA activities will aim at determining whether the above-mentioned steps may have led to large-scale damage on the part of the Gas Transmission Operator GAZ-SYSTEM S.A.
The expected duration of the inspection is 3 months. However, this period may be extended by further 6 months.
