The number of suspects in the GetBack S.A. case is growing

Seven persons offering GetBack S.A. bonds have been detained by the CBA. It is the continuation of the investigation into the company.

The officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw have carried out further activities in connection with the investigation into irregularities in the GetBack S.A. company. The proceedings have been supervised by the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.

Today, the CBA officers have detained further seven persons, three women and four men, in the Podkarpackie, Lubelskie, Podlaskie and Śląskie Voivodships. As bank employees, the detainees offered the company's bonds to clients by providing misleading information about the properties and safety of the financial product. In total, acting in the territory of the Łódzkie Voivodship, they sold bonds worth over PLN 12 million. In this thread alone, 70 people are affected.

At the same time, the detainees' places of residence have been searched to secure evidence which is essential for the investigation. The detained persons will hear charges in the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. Upon the completion of the activities, the prosecutor will decide on the application of preventive measures.

The investigation in the GetBack S.A. case has been carried out in several threads. So far, 90 people have been charged. In October 2020, the first indictment was filed in the case. The Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw charged 16 persons with fraud in the distribution of GetBack S.A. bonds and investment fund certificates, abuse of powers and causing large-scale property damage to Idea Bank, as well as running a brokerage business by the bank without the required permit from the Polish Financial Supervision Authority.
