Former President of the Management Board and former Commercial Director of Lublin Airport S.A. with charges
Two persons have been charged in connection with the conclusion of contracts detrimental to the Lublin Airport Authority S.A. in 2014. According to the investigators' findings, the irregularities resulted in causing property damage of great magnitude, i.e. over PLN 5 million.
The CBA Regional Office in Lublin has been investigating the abuse of powers and the failure to comply with duties from March 2014 to September 2014 by persons obliged under their managerial positions to deal with the company's property affairs. The proceedings, conducted under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Lublin, were initiated based on materials collected from an inspection carried out by the Control Proceedings Department of the CBA Regional Office in Lublin.
The investigators have found that in 2014 the company entered into contracts involving ticketing and promotion with a Romanian carrier in a state of insolvency.
The company twice financed promotional activities with its own funds in the total amount of €800,000, in a situation where the carrier had no influence on the number of tickets sold or the number of passengers carried and did not take any action aimed at promoting the route and thus increasing sales.
The evidence gathered in the case also indicates that a default in payment occurred as a result of breaching the obligation to supervise the execution of the sales agreement and timely check the invoices for their contents. As a consequence, the carrier withheld the deposit of €400,000, exposing the company to the risk of large-scale property damage.
Based on the evidence gathered in the case, in the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Lublin charges were brought against the former President of the Management Board and the former Commercial Director of Lublin Airport S.A.
