New investigation. Seven persons detained by CBA. Corruption charges for Warsaw civil servants and entrepreneurs.
Officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw have detained 7 persons, including 2 deputy directors of the Directorate of the Praga-Północ district of the City of Warsaw and 5 entrepreneurs. It is a new investigation carried out by the CBA. The evidence gathered suggests that the detained persons were involved in a corrupt practice - in exchange for financial or personal advantages the entrepreneurs could count on the favour of officials in winning tenders and orders to carry out construction and cleaning works in the Praga-Północ district of the capital city of Warsaw. Bribes were given both in the form of cash and services provided, e.g. purchases at DIY stores.
Based on the evidence currently gathered in the case, the amounts of financial advantages handed over exceed PLN 100,000.
In the District Prosecutor's Office for Warszawa-Praga, the detainees were charged with corruption.
The investigation is ongoing.
