An employee of the District Labour Inspectorate in Warsaw and an entrepreneur have been detained for a new case investigated by the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw.

The Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Warsaw, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, has been investigating the acceptance of financial advantage by an employee of the District Labour Inspectorate in Warsaw in connection with his public function. Two persons, including a Mazovian entrepreneur and an employee of the District Labour Inspectorate in Warsaw, have been detained under this investigation in recent days.

The investigators' findings indicate that the detained civil servant was involved in a corrupt practice - in exchange for financial or personal advantage, the entrepreneur may have expected favour from the official in connection with the procedure conducted at his entity, related to an accident at work. As part of their activities, CBA officers searched the detainees' places of residence as well as the District Labour Inspectorate in Warsaw to secure documentation related to the conducted control. The detainees heard corruption charges in the Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor applied non-custodial preventive measures against them.
