A Prison Service officer detained
A guardian and a ward of custody in Bydgoszcz will be held liable for accepting financial advantages. As the CBA officers have established, corrupt practices flourished in custody. Additionally, the Prison Service guardian will face charges of abuse of his powers. The detained accepted at least PLN 100 thousand.
The officers of the Field Division in Bydgoszcz of the Regional Office of the CBA in Gdańsk detained a Prison Service officer. According to the establishments made in the course of the investigation, the officer facilitated the detained to contact third persons while leaving the closed ward in exchange for “bribes”, and thus abused his powers. The Prosecutor's Office brought a charge of acceptance of a financial advantage and abuse of powers against the man. A property surety and a ban on leaving the country were applied against him.
The entire case was revealed before. Only then, the CBA officers discovered that a person in the Bydgoszcz custody traded in influence in the Prison Service. In exchange for high amounts of money, he used to promise other prisoners a pass or a break in serving the penalty. The District Prosecutor's Office in Bydgoszcz brought a charge of acceptance of a financial advantage in the amount of PLN 1,000 to PLN 100 thousand against him. The investigation is in progress.
