Bid rigging at district municipality
15 allegations were brought against the Head of the Bieruńsko-Lędziński District, Director of the District Road Administration in Bieruń, and a businessman - a company owner dealing with road works. The case is conducted by the CBA.
The investigation looks into abuse of power in tenders for renovation and modernisation of district roads of the value of several million zloty.
The officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice, by order of the District Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, detained Bernard D., Head of the Bieruńsko-Lędziński District, Dorota U. Director of the District Road Administration in Bieruń, and one of local entrepreneurs involved in road works.
The detained were presented with 15 allegations altogether, concerning the so-called bid rigging, abuse of power and making false statements concerning public tenders.
The district head and the director of the District Road Administration were suspended in performance of their duties by the prosecutor. The entrepreneur must submit PLN 50 thousand as property surety.
