Another person detained in the 'rubbish affair'

Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau detained today Włodzimierz K., former Minister of the State Treasury. The detention is related to an ongoing investigation into the acceptance of financial advantages amounting to several million zlotys and invoking influence in the implementation of public procurement contracts for companies involved in waste collection and disposal from the capital city of Warsaw.

Today, officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau detained Włodzimierz K, former Minister of the State Treasury and current Secretary of the City of Warsaw. As part of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the Silesian Field Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption at the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau detained Włodzimierz K.  At the same time, they searched seven properties related to the detainee, located in three voivodeships.

The investigation concerns, among other things, corruption and invoking influence in the so-called rubbish affair. At the beginning of February this year, Rafał B. - former Deputy Minister of the State Treasury and President of the Employers of Poland - and three other entrepreneurs were detained in connection with this case.

Today, after being brought to the public prosecutor's office, Włodzimierz K. will face charges and be questioned as a suspect. Decisions on preventive measures will be taken by the prosecutor after the completion of the activities with the suspect.
