Former Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland temporarily arrested

Officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Katowice detained former deputy minister and Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland – Adam G. and entrepreneur – Jarosław K., in connection with an investigation regarding an acceptance of a financial benefit by a person performing a public function.

Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, under the supervision of the Silesian Branch of the Department of Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice conduct an investigation into the acceptance of financial benefit by a person performing a public function.

Allegations of accepting a bribe

The Prosecutor of the Silesian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice charged Adam G. with accepting a financial benefit in the amount of over PLN 170,000 in connection with performed public function, inciting and aiding in the issuance of fictitious VAT invoices and using a document confirming untruth.

The second suspect was charged with aiding and abetting in receiving a financial advantage.
The crimes charged against the suspects are punishable by up to 8 years in prison.

Preventive measures


The prosecutor supervising the case submitted to the court a request to apply a preventive measure in the form of temporary arrest against Adam G. The court accepted the prosecutor's request and decided to temporarily arrest the suspect for a period of three months.

The prosecutor applied against Jarosław K. preventive measures.
