Corruption charges against an official and two entrepreneurs
Officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau detained three people, including an official of the City and Municipality of Radoszyce. The investigation into the violation of bidding procedures and overstepping of authority is being supervised by the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Kielce.
Irregularities in bidding procedures
Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau Regional Office in Krakow are investigating corruption offenses and exceeding the powers of a public official in order to gain a financial benefit.
The findings indicate that irregularities occurred in the Radoszyce Municipality Office with regard to bidding procedures. A local government official disclosed important circumstances that were relevant to contracts for public services. In exchange for waiving the procedures, he demanded a financial benefit of PLN 150,000.
Detained official and two entrepreneurs
On April 22, 2024, officers of the CBA Regional Office in Krakow and Katowice detained three people. The detainees included the deputy mayor of the Radoszyce Town and Municipality Office and two entrepreneurs working with him.
The detainees were brought to the District Prosecutor's Office in Kielce.
CBA officers searched nearly 10 locations in the Świętokrzyskie province. They secured documentation related to the implementation of public contracts in the City and Municipality of Radoszyce.
Corruption charges
The prosecutor charged the deputy mayor of Radoszyce City and Municipality with demanding a financial benefit in connection with his public function, failing to fulfill his duties as a public official to obtain financial benefits, and failing to apply public procurement procedures in the implementation of two public investments.
One of the entrepreneurs has been charged with demanding that a public official be given financial benefits in the amount of 150,000 PLN and with aiding and abetting.
Another entrepreneur has been charged by the prosecutor with aiding and abetting one of the crimes related to the public official’s failure to fulfill his duties.
Preventive measures applied
At the prosecutor's request, the District Court in Kielce applied preventive measures in the form of temporary detention for a period of 3 months against the official and one of the entrepreneurs. Regarding the third detainee, the prosecutor applied non-custodial preventive measures in the form of bail and police supervision combined with a prohibition on contacting the other suspects.
