Charges of bid rigging and making false statements were brought to officials from Bielsko-Biała who were detained by the CBA. This is a part of multithreaded investigation of corruption concerning purchases of computer equipment and commissioning of IT services.
Officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice detained two current and one former officials of the Municipal Office in Bielsko-Biała. Suspicions concern corruption in purchasing of computer equipment and commissioning of IT services. Findings were made in a wide, multi-threaded investigation conducted by the CBA under the supervision of the Department V for Organized Crime and Corruption of the of Appellate Prosecutor Office in Katowice.
In this disclosed case the order was constructed in a way which allowed to prefer only only one of the contractors. Detainees already were brought charges of bid rigging and making false statements. The prosecution applied preventive measures of financial guarantees in the amounts of 5 up to 10 thousands PLN and suspension of business.
The investigation is in process. Further detentions and enlargement of the list of charges is not ruled out.
