Letter of intent on cooperation between CBA and UMB
The Head of the CBA, Ms Agnieszka Kwiatkowska-Gurdak, and the Rector of the Medical University of Bialystok, Prof. Dr. Marcin Moniuszko, signed a letter of intent on cooperation.
Central Anti-Corruption Bureau and the Medical University of Bialystok will jointly undertake information and education initiatives. The cooperation will concern training, as well as developing and strengthening ethical attitudes among future university graduates.
During the meeting, the Rector of the University, Professor Marcin Moniuszko, emphasised that the training provided by CBA experts would allow all university employees to better understand the specifics of public procurement. These issues are important in the context of the acquisition of specialised equipment for ongoing research projects. He assured that Scientists and Doctors care about ensuring that public money spent on research brings the best results.
The CBA’s task is not only to detect and combat corruption and economic crime, but also, and perhaps above all, to prevent irregularities and protect state institutions from potential damage. An efficient anti-corruption system is a constant educational activity aimed at various professional and social groups.
Minister Agnieszka Kwiatkowska-Gurdak indicated that a number of training courses are planned for the Medical University of Białystok to raise awareness of corruption and protect against its negative personal, professional, social and ethical effects.
The meeting was attended by: Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau Agnieszka Kwiatkowska-Gurdak, Director of the Cabinet of the Head Wojciech Sapalski, Director of the Human Resources and Training Bureau Mariusz Tomaszewski and, on behalf of the Medical University of Bialystok, Rector Professor Marcin Moniuszko, Vice-Rector for Clinical Hospitals and Postgraduate Education Prof. Janusz Dzięcioł and Chancellor of the University Konrad Raczkowski, as well as Deputy Director for Finance of the University Clinical Hospital, Beata Kropiwnicka.
So far, the Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau has established similar cooperation with over a dozen other universities, including the Catholic University of Lublin, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University in Krakow, AGH University of Krakow, Krakow University of Technology, University of Silesia, University of Rzeszów, Warsaw University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology, Białystok University of Technology, Gdańsk University of Technology, Rzeszów University of Technology, West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin, Wrocław University of Economics and Business, Military University of Szczecin.
Central Anti-Corruption Bureau has been undertaking preventive and educational activities aimed at convincing people that corruption is a serious threat to the functioning of a legally-governed state. It is an ongoing process of creating awareness and conviction that each of us has an impact on the creation of anti-corruption rules applicable in the state and in private life.
