CBA Searches Conducted in 13 Locations

Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau searched thirteen locations across the West Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Łódź Voivodeships. The operations were also carried out at the headquarters of the West Pomeranian Regional Road Authority in Koszalin. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin.

On July 9 and 24 of this year, officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Szczecin, with the support of officers from the Regional Offices of the CBA in Łódź and Bydgoszcz, conducted searches at thirteen locations across the West Pomeranian, Kuyavian-Pomeranian, and Łódź Voivodeships. The actions took place at the headquarters of various business entities as well as the residences of individuals managing those entities. Searches were also conducted at the headquarters of the West Pomeranian Regional Road Authority in Koszalin and the Regional Road Authority in Białogard. CBA officers secured electronic equipment, official email accounts, and documentation related to services performed and goods supplied.

A multi-threaded Investigation

Officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Szczecin are conducting the investigation under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin. The case involves, among other things, the acceptance of financial benefits by public officials between 2015 and 2022. Multiple threads have emerged in the investigation, including the acceptance of bribes by employees of the West Pomeranian Regional Road Authority in Koszalin, violations of public procurement procedures, and the issuance of fictitious VAT invoices. Thirteen business entities from several voivodeships may be linked to the described practices.

Ongoing Case

To date, CBA officers have carried out thirteen procedural actions under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Szczecin. In the investigation concerning the acceptance of financial benefits by public officials, ten individuals have been charged. Ongoing efforts aim to determine the scope of the criminal operation and the financial losses incurred by the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. Further actions are planned.
