Requests for arrest of 4 detained persons in connection to the reprivatization
The Prosecutor’s Office applied a request for temporary arrest against 4 people detained by the CBA in connection to the investigation of reprivatization in Warsaw.
The officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Warsaw detained on 30th January 2017 five people in the investigation of irregularities in the reprivatization in Warsaw.
Among detained people are, inter alia, a former official of the Warsaw City Hall and a lawyer. People detained by the CBA were taken to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław, where they were charged for, among others, fraud to the detriment of the heirs of the Polish general, who as a result of the actions of the suspects, suffered damage amounting to over 27 million PLN; granting and acceptance of financial benefit in the amount of 2,5 million PLN; counterfeiting a power of attorney and using it in an inheritance proceeding before a court in Warsaw.
Against one of the arrested men preventive measures were applied in the form of, among others, police supervision, ban to leave the country and the bail in the amount of 0.5 million zł. The suspect, submitted vast explanations, which are reflected in the evidence material gathered in the course of the investigation.
Requests for temporary arrest for the period of 3 months were sent to District Court of Wrocław-Downtown against other four suspects, who had been detained earlier by the CBA.
The basis for initiating investigation in this case was a notice about the acquisition by a former employee of claims of the Warsaw City Hall to one of Warsaw real estate, and consequently - the acquisition of perpetual usufruct.
