CBA: Corruption in Szczecin Power Station. 12 detainees
The CBA agents from Szczecin detained 12 people - including employees of Szczecin Power Station and a businessman - in the investigation of corruption in the supply of biomass to the Power Station. Caught red-handed and detained while accepting 50 000 zł bribe was the Director for Energy of the Power Station. Multimillion losses of the State Treasury.
The Regional Office of the CBA in Szczecin conducts an investigation under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin on corruption in the supply of fuel to the furnace fueled by biomass in the Szczecin Power Station. It was established that provided by a businessman transports were not biomass at all. Despite this, the employees responsible for supervising the quality of the fuel, in exchange for financial benefits, were confirming that the trucks were filled with the appropriate technically biomass. Because of that electricity was produced from a fuel of poor quality.
The officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau from the Regional Office in Szczecin detained 12 people, including a businessman and employees of the Powers Station Team Dolna Odra – the Szczecin Power Station. Among the detainees is the Director for Energy - Chief Engineer of the Power Station S.A. The Director was caught red-handed while he was accepting a bribe in the amount of 50 000 zł.
As a result of searches 1 million zł in cash was secured, including over 100 thousand zł in the business premises of the employees of the Szczecin Power Station.
Preliminary findings indicate that these practices caused multimillion damages to the detriment of state-owned company Polish Energy Group SA. (Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA.)
The case is ongoing.
