CBA: they wanted to extort over 2,3 mln zł subsidies from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture (ARMA). They were detained.

The perpetrators wanted to extort over 2.3 million zł direct payments on military training ground and state land. They failed. The CBA detained an employee of podkarpacki ARMA and the co-organizer of the practice. Four other people heard charges in the prosecutor's office.

District Prosecutor's Office in Przemyśl conducts preparatory proceeding entrusted to the Regional Office of the Central Anticorruption Bureau in Rzeszow on driving the employees of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture to insufficient management of the property of the Agency.

During the investigation, it was determined that the procedure consisted in extorting subsidies under the direct payments system of military training grounds by submitting to the ARMA county district offices in Podkarpacie Voivodship untrue statements confirming the rights to land and their agricultural use. In order for this illegal mechanism to function, the originators, introduced as beneficiaries of the subsidies their friends or family members. The investigators' findings indicate that in this way they attempted to extort about 1.4 million zlotys and over 965 thousand zł has already been transferred to the bank accounts indicated by the applicants, the rest has been blocked.

The CBA officers suspect that the procedure would not be possible without the participation of people having access to detailed information on land and payment terms. A search was conducted at the workplace and place of residence of an employee of one of Podkarpackie county geodetic and cartographic centers and three employees of the Podkarpackie ARMA.

So far, a co-organizer of this procedure  - Dawid Ś. and an employee of the Podkarpackie Regional Branch of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture - Wojciech R. were detained. A search was conducted also in the residences of four so-called "poles", who, similarly like the persons detained, heard charges at the Prosecutor's Office in Przemyśl. Against all of the suspects were used preventive measures.

The investigators do not rule out further detentions and enlargement of the list of charges.
