Two former officers of special services were detained by the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice. They claimed to have influences, among others, in state and local government institutions, they dealt with official matters for bribes. The procedure lasted for years.
The agents from the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice detained two former special service officers. Men used their influences in state institutions, local government institutions, as well as in law enforcement and justice agencies. In this way they were involved in settling various official matters. In return they were taking bribes.
Among the detainees is a former director of the UOP delegation (non-existing Office for State Protection) in Rzeszow Janusz W., who heard seven charges of corruption in the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice. The CBA officers have established that the man turned his corrupt actions into a permanent source of income. Another person detained by the CBA is a former officer of the ABW (Internal Security Agency) and the CBA - Maciej D. He was accused of committing an offense of claiming to have influence in return for financial benefits. Maciej D. already in 2007 was released from service in the CBA and was detained by the Bureau. At that time, he heard corruption charges and was put to custody. He was convicted with a final judgment. Janusz W. at the request of the Silesian Terrain Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice, by the decision of the Court was taken into custody for three months.
