CENTRAL ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU always in the interest of Poland CBA’s request for the dismissal of the Deputy President of the City of Zielona Góra - News -

The Regional Office of the CBA in Poznań has completed a control of compliance with the prohibitions referred in art. 4 of the Act of 21 August 1997 on the limitation of conducting business activity by persons performing public functions by Krzysztof Kaliszuk, acting as Deputy President of Zielona Góra.

The CBA officers revealed that the Deputy President Krzysztof Kaliszuk, in contravention of the prohibition, had managed economic activity of the Association of Lubuskie Land Aeroclub in Zielona Góra, as a member of its board. This function he held until September 5 last year, that is, until the day of the initiation of control.

According to art. 4 of the Anticorruption Act, persons subject to anti-corruption restrictions during their term of office (among others: president of the city, deputy president of the city, mayor) may not conduct business activity on their own account or jointly with other persons and manage such activity or be a representative or plenipotentiary in conducting such activity.

According to the provisions of the anticorruption law, the violation of the anticorruption prohibitions by the deputy president of the city, causes the dismissal-termination of his employment contract, at the latest after a period of one month. The dismissal is tantamount to terminating the employment contract without notice.

In view of the irregularities identified, the Central Anticorruption Bureau directed a request to the  President of the City of Zielona Góra to dismiss the Deputy President Krzysztof Kaliszuk from his position.

The CBA has also requested information about the method and scope of the implementation of the request.
