Officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Wrocław detained a research employee at one of the Warsaw universities ,and at the same time a manager of an IT project in a private company. He offered 900 thousand PLN for illegal awarding of 6 million PLN funding from NCBR.
The Wrocław Regional Office of the CBA, on basis of its own findings is conducting an investigation on the promise of financial benefits in return for mediation in obtaining funding from NCBR.
The CBA determined that an employee of the university, who – at the same time - was running an IT project at one of the private companies, wanted to illegally obtain about $ 6 million funding from the National Center for Research and Development. For help in getting an approval for the project he promised the intermediary - 900 thousand PLN.
The CBA agents have collected evidence against him, and have secured the documents. The man was detained. He was brought charges of corrupt character - paid protection - in the Cracow District Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor applied preventive measures against the man: police supervision and 300 thousand PLN bail.
