Three arrests for claiming to have influences in courts
For 220 000 zł they were to get a so-called electronic bracelet for the convicted owner of slot machines network - instead of prison. They were detained by the CBA.
The Regional Office of the Central Anticorruption Bureau in Gdańsk, under the supervision of the Pomeranian Terrain Department in Gdańsk of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office, is conducting an investigation on claiming to have influences in common courts in Warsaw.
The CBA officers have detained 3 people: a 39-year-old Warsaw resident who has been involved in the past in running slot machines points, who additionally has been punished repeatedly for different criminal offenses and a female Warsaw resident, who has been dealing with investmental advisory, twice punished for the crime of paid protection and also a person dealing with sale and renting of luxury cars.
The prosecutor accused the detained persons of commitment of corruption crimes. In exchange for financial benefit of 220 thousands zł, while claiming to have influences in common courts, they were to get for the convicted 39-year old man favorable for him settlement in criminal cases: the deferral of execution of the penalty of imprisonment and the possibility doing jail time in so-called electronic monitoring system.
The court has temporarily arrested for 3 months the suspects detained by the CBA. They face a penalty of up to eight years imprisonment.
