Attorney detained by the CBA arrested
CBA agents from Wroclaw detained an attorney for attempting to corrupt an employee of prosecutor's office and to persuade to "sell" information from the investigation. The bribe was supposed to be 200 thousand zł or an apartment.
The Podkarpackie Terrain Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Rzeszow together with Regional Office of the CBA in Wrocław is conducting an investigation against Anna D., an attorney, who has been included in the list of attorneys of the District Bar Association in Wrocław.
The attorney was detained by the CBA officers and then transferred to the headquarters of the Rzeszów Division of the National Prosecutor's Office. The suspect was charged with making twice a promise in 2016 of giving the prosecutor's assistant from the Dolnośląskie Terrain Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław a financial benefit - money in amount of 200,000 PLN or purchase of an apartment. In return, the attorney wanted to obtain information from an investigated case.
Suspected Anna D. did not admit to having committed the alleged offense and submitted explanations.
Today, the District Court in Rzeszów decided to apply for preventive measures against Anna D. in the form of a temporary detention for a period of two months after the Prosecutor's request.
For committed crime the suspect faces the penalty of imprisonment from 1 to 10 years.
