Already 33 people detained by the CBA in re Szczecin Power Plant

The CBA agents from Szczecin have arrested 11 people in a corruption investigation concerning the supply of biomass to the Dolna Odra Power Plant Complex - Szczecin Power Plant. Together they are already a group of 33 suspects.

The Regional Office of the CBA in Szczecin conducts an investigation under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin on corruption in the supply of fuel to a biomass-powered furnace at the Szczecin Power Plant. It was determined, that the staff responsible for the quality of the fuel, in return for the financial benefits, would confirm that the trucks were filled with technically appropriate biomass, while in fact they were not.

The CBA agents from Szczecin have detained 11 more people - six truck drivers and five representatives of biomass producers. Everyone faced corruption charges in the prosecutor's office.

Already earlier the officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anticorruption Bureau in Szczecin have detained in this thread of investigation - 22 people, inter alia, businessmen and employees of the Dolna Odra Power Plant Complex of the Szczecin Power Plant. Contemporary chief engineer of the Szczecin Power Plant was caught red-handed while he was accepting a bribe the amount of 50,000 PLN. As a result of the searches, more than 100 thousand PLN were secured in the service rooms of the employees of Szczecin Power Plant. Three detainees were then temporarily arrested.

The procedure, as indicated by the findings of the investigators, could cause multi-million losses to the detriment of the State Treasury's company - Polish Energy Group SA.
