IV International Anticorruption Conference

For the fourth time at the initiative of the Head of the Central Anticorruption Bureau Paweł Wojtunik was held the International Anticorruption Conference. It was co-organized by the Public Procurement Office and the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. The meeting was organized in relation to the 10th Celebration of the International Day against Corruption.

Not only effective combating of corruption, but also preventive and educational measures, are the responsibility of the Central Anticorruption Bureau. Therefore, for the fourth time the Bureau has become the initiator of the organized International Anticorruption Conference. Tis year the main theme of the meeting was “The role of the state administration in identifying irregularities in public procurement.”

Conference was organized in the building of the Polish Sejm of the Republic of Poland thanks to the kindness of the Marshall of the Sejm. It was co-organized by the Public Procurement Office and the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection. The meeting was attended by nearly 300 people representing, among others, domestic and foreign institutions, organizations and services involved in the Fight and Prevention against Corruption.

Opening of the conference in the Column Hall of the Sejm, began the Head of the CBA Paweł Wojtunik, Deputy Head of the Chancellery of the Sejm Jan Wegrzyn, Minister of Internal Affairs Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz, President of the UOKiK Margaret Krasnodębska- Tomkiel , President of UZP Jacek Sadowy, and the President of the Supreme Chamber of Control (NIK) Krzysztof Kwiatkowski. Later on the conference was continued in working groups on the following topics:

  • “Detecting irregularities in the realization of public procurement ",
  • “Liability of collective entities and corruption counteraction".

International Anticorruption Day was established by the General Assembly resolution of the United Nations 58/4 of 31 October 2003 and commemorates its ratification by States Parties of the United Nations Convention against Corruption on 9 - 11 December 2003 in Merida in Mexico.
