An arrest for the former president of the Jasło Refinery. Another episode of the "Subcarpathian affair".

The men detained by the CBA were charged - in the Silesian Terrain Division of the Department for Criminality of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice - with accepting bribes.

Financial benefits were received by former management of Jasło Refinery in exchange for preferential treatment of one of the fuel companies in March 2000, November 2006.

The investigators' findings indicate, that the former President-General of Jasło Refinery, has received financial benefits of a total value of not less than 260 thousand PLN from a businessman from a fuel industry - a suspect in the so-called "Subcarpathian affair". He was also charged with invoking influences in the LOTOS Group S.A. and undertaking mediation in settling for one of the fuel companies favorable trading conditions with this entity, for what he accepted at least 10 thousand PLN . 

Former Vice president - Marketing and Sales Director of Jasło Refinery is suspected of accepting at least 40 thousand PLN bribe from the same businessman. Whereas the former head of the department at the refinery is suspected of accepting a financial benefit of a total value of not less than 37.5 thousand PLN.

With the decision of the Katowice court, the former president of the refinery was sentenced to 3 months for temporary detention. Against the remaining two suspects liberation preventive measures were used: bailout in the amount of 40 thousand PLN and 50 thousand PLN, ban on leaving the country and also suspensions in official duties of former vice president of the refinery who now is the President of the Management Board of Lotos Infrastruktura Jasło company.

This are further detentions in the investigation concerning, inter alia, abuse of powers, acceptance of financial benefits by a Member of Parliament, invoking influences in state institutions. The case is ongoing.

Recently, in July this year, agents of the Rzeszów Regional Office of the CBA detained for corruption Bogusław P. - former head of the parliamentary office of Jan B. Earlier the CBA officers detained Zbigniew N. - the advisor to justice ministers, the inactive District Prosecutor in Rzeszow, Anna H. - the former Prosecutor of Appeal in Rzeszów and other persons connected with the case.
