They wanted PLN 6 million for concessions and settlement of government contracts in the construction of the Central Communication Port
The agents of the Regional Office of the CBA in Łódź detained 5 persons regarding invoking influences among parliamentarians, persons performing functions in central offices - ministries and among persons holding public functions in local governments. The detainees are a businessman from Krakow, a landowner from Szydłowiec and two businessmen from Łódź. One of the detainees is a foreigner.
The detention took place during a business meeting, in one of Rzegów restaurant, when the details of the notarial deed that was discussed and was supposed to be signed on the following day. The notarial deed constituted the basic element of the entire transaction.
The detainees were very surprised, they did not expect such CBA's operation.
For 6 million zlotys bribe, which was to be handed over to decision makers and lobbyists - who were supposed to deal with the case, MPs and officials, the detainees offered concession, permits for exploitation, de-agriculturalization of 50 ha of land located between Kielce and Radom and, above all, high government contracts for receiving aggregates from a mining outcrop intended for the construction of, among others, Central Communication Port and highways.
The findings of the CBA indicate, that the detainees have been carrying out their criminal activities for the last two to three months.
The investor was to acquire for 32 million zlotys a quarry area and adjacent large recreational area, and the detainees guaranteed a quick return on investment. In addition to money from extraction and sale to state contractors of construction raw materials, profits were to be generated by the spa, thermal baths and rehabilitation center built from scratch. In exchange for such a possibility of profitable investment, for arranging official matters and permits for, among others, geothermal energy, illegal intermediaries "handlers" wanted shares in the company servicing this newly created resort and also managerial positions in it. All of it, the whole action of the "proponents" was properly packaged, authenticated by, among others, meetings in settled matters that took place in the institutions and offices of parliamentarians without their participation.
Persons detained by the CBA agents from Łódź, will be charged with corruption in the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, where the evidence and materials collected by the Office in this case will be transferred.
