The former head of the Mazowieckie National Health Fund (NFZ) has been detained
The director of the Mazovian National Health Fund has exceeded his authority, he will now answer for it. Jelenia Góra's district prosecutor's office will present charges of abuse of power to the detainee caught by the agents from the Wrocław CBA.
The officers from the Wrocław Regional Office of the Central Anticorruption Bureau detained the former director of the Mazovian National Health Fund. The detention took place in one of the towns near Warsaw. During the investigation, it turned out that the man signed a contract with a sleazy medical company. The company had previously lost a contract as a result of frauds. The company collected fees for operations refunded from the NFZ.
However, this did not prevent the contemporary head of the Mazovian Fund to sign another contract with the representatives of the sleazy company, which was worth nearly PLN 14 million. Thus, he exceeded his powers.
The detained man will be transferred to the District Prosecutor's Office in Jelenia Góra, where he will be charged with exceeding the powers in order to obtain financial benefits.
