Deputy Minister of the Treasury from 2012-2014 detained on the privatization of CIECH
Agents from the CBA Regional Office in Wrocław detained 6 persons responsible and involved in the privatization of CIECH: Deputy Minister of the Treasury from 2012-2014 supervising this privatization, contemporary: minister counselor, director and chief specialist from the Ministry of Treasury and 2 experts of the financial company which prepared a valuation of the company being privatized. The investigation concerns, among others, abuse of powers in order to obtain financial benefits and damage to the state property in large sizes.
CBA agents detained suspects, among others, in Warsaw, Łódź and Krakow. Activities are ongoing.
Earlier, in years 2016-2017, the CBA officers secured documents and data, analyzes, studies and notes in several companies and at persons cooperating with the Ministry of the Treasury in the process of privatization and sale of Ciech shares.
The investigation concerns the matter of failure to fulfill the obligations and abuse of the rights granted in order to obtain financial benefits by persons obliged to deal with property matters of the State Treasury, in connection with the State Treasury's sale in response to the public request of KI Chemistry from the Kulczyk Investments group of 37.9% Ciech shares for the amount not less than 619 million zlotys - what was the damage to property in large sizes. The investigation is carried out under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Katowice and by the Wrocław CBA's Regional Office.
