Bribes at the construction of the Jaworzno III power plant. Another detainee

Agents from the Katowice Regional Office of the CBA disclosed corruption in the construction of the 910MW coal block in Jaworzno. The contract for the investment of over 5.4 billion zlotys was signed in 2014 with a consortium, which main contractor is Rafako SA. This company from the energy industry has established a 100% subsidiary, a special purpose company called E003B7 based in Raciborz, which is carrying out the investment.

The CBA agents detained Sławomir W., a collaborator of a Rzeszów construction company, which owner was detained earlier.

In the national prosecutor's office, he was charged with committing corruption crimes - giving bribes, helping in transferring cash to an engineer from E003B7 company.

January 16, this year the CBA agents detained in the act of accepting 50,000 zł bribe by Marcin Sz. - a manager from this company dealing with the construction of the Jaworzno III power plant on behalf of Rafako SA. The businessman from the construction industry from Rzeszów was the one who gave the money. The money for the engineer from E003B7 company was to be a corrupt payment only for the order to the Rzeszów company to participate in the implementation of one of the stages of construction of the Jaworzno III power plant and to facilitate further settlement.

The investigation, conducted from the beginning by the CBA Regional Office in Katowice, is supervised by the Silesian Terrain Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office. Investigators from the CBA do not rule out further detentions and extension of the list of charges.
