CBA Turnover of biofuels on the CBA's target
The officers of the Szczecin Regional Office of the Central Anticorruption Bureau in cooperation with the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk, together with customs and tax office employees and inspectors of the Road Transport Inspection, searched the headquarters of several economic entities throughout the country, that are dealing in the trade of biofuels and biofuel components.
The activities carried out relate to the multifaceted and cross-border investigation conducted by the CBA Regional Office in Szczecin under the supervision of the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Gdańsk.
The investigation concerns an organized criminal group operating throughout the country from November 2015 to March 2017 and abuses of VAT, excise tax and fuel surcharge by members of this group. Illegal activities exposed the State Treasury to losses in the amount exceeding 70 million zł in total.
180 officers of the CBA, Customs and Tax Offices of Zachodniopomorskie, Dolnośląskie and Opolskie and the Road Transport Inspection searched 40 places, where documents and items related to the trade in biofuels and components for these fuels were secured.
