Millions for concessions and settlement of government contracts in the construction of the Central Communication Port - another detainee
The Regional Office of the CBA in Łódź, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, conducts investigation regarding invoking influences (paid protection) among parliamentarians, persons performing functions in central offices - ministries, the National Fund for Environmental Protection and among persons holding public functions in local governments and offices. For a 6 million zł bribe, which was to be handed over to decision makers and lobbyists, MPs and officials - detainees offered concession, permits for exploitation, de-agriculturalization of a 50 ha land located between Kielce and Radom and, above all, high government contracts for receiving aggregates from the mining outcrop intended for the construction of, among others, Central Communication Port and highways.
The CBA agents from Łódź detained another person from the group engaged in paid protection. The findings of the CBA show that a well-known businessman was to authenticate the whole practice.
The whole action of the "name-droppers" was appropriately "packed", made probable, among others, by meetings in settled matters that took place in the institutions and offices of parliamentarians without their participation. In order to commit a crime of paid protection, it is not necessary to actually have influence - it is enough if the suspects for such influence are invoking or confirming their existence. The findings of the investigation indicate that these were not actual influences.
The agents searched the businessman's living quarters in the historic palace near Warsaw. The detainee was already charged in the prosecutor's office.
Previously, the agents of the CBA Regional Office in Łódź detained 5 persons - a businessman from Krakow, a landowner from Szydłowiec, and two businessmen from Łódź. One of the detainees is a foreigner. The detention took place at a business meeting, at a restaurant in Rzegów, Łódź, when the details of the notarial act constituting the basic element of the entire fixed game were discussed. As indicated by the CBA findings, the investor was to purchase for an inflated price of 32 million zlotys a quarry area and adjacent large recreational area - and the detainees guaranteed a quick return on investment. In addition to the money from extraction and sale to state contractors of construction raw materials, profits were to be generated by the SPA center built from scratch, thermal baths and rehabilitation. For the planned investment, they were to obtain additional subsidies in the amount of 100 to 300 million zł. In exchange for such a possibility of profitable investment, for arranging official matters and permits for, among others, geothermal, illegal intermediaries "settlers" wanted property and personal benefits, among others, shares in a company with own capital of several dozen million zlotys serving a newly created SPA and managerial positions.
