The agents of the CBA from Szczecin, ordered by the prosecutor, detained two more people in the corruption investigation in the supply of biomass to the Dolna Odra Power Plant Complex - the Szczecin Power Plant.
The CBA Regional Office in Szczecin is conducting an investigation under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, regarding corruption in the supply of fuel to a biomass-fired furnace. According to investigators from the CBA and the prosecutor's office, in exchange for bribes, raw materials were accepted that did not meet the quality requirements and technical standards. The employees responsible for the supervision of the quality of fuel confirmed that the trucks were filled with technically appropriate biomass, although it was not true.
At the request of the prosecutor, the CBA agents from Szczecin detained today in Szczecin and the surrounding area, 2 more suspects in this investigation: a former power plant employee and a driver delivering the false biomass. They were charged with corruption in the prosecutor's office.
The officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau from the Regional Office in Szczecin had already detained 40 people in this investigation on the order of the prosecutor, among others, businessmen and employees of the Dolna Odra Power Plant Complex - Szczecin Power Plant, truck drivers and representatives of biomass producers. The contemporary main power plant engineer was detained in the act of accepting a bribe of 50,000 zł. As a result of searches, over 100,000 zł was secured in the employees' duty rooms.
According to investigators' findings, the dealings could have caused losses of several millions to the detriment of the State Treasury company - Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA.
