Officers of the CBA Regional Office in Poznań, detained another 7 persons in the investigation of extorting EU funds from the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture. The amount of benefits granted is at least 73 thousand zł.
Detained persons were giving financial benefits in the amount of at least 73 thousand zł and promised to grant financial benefits to two employees of the Investment Support Office of the Wielkopolska Regional Branch of the Agency for Restructuring and Modernization of Agriculture in Poznań. The Agency's employees, in exchange for received bribes, promised assistance in obtaining financial support for investment activities "Modernization of farms" and "Bonuses for young farmers" covered by the Rural Development Program for the years 2007 - 2013 and 2014-2020.
In the case, extensive evidence material was collected. The findings of the CBA indicate, that a number of crimes against the activities of state institutions could have occurred, as well as abuse of powers of a public official.
Already earlier, the CBA detained two employees of ARiMR and also the owner of a private agricultural advisory center. In exchange for bribes, they led to obtaining by the farmers of financial help. In the course of the investigation it was established that the employees of the agricultural agency were involved in the development and completion of the required documentation submitted by the farmers. As a result, they supervised the positive consideration of applications, and the agricultural adviser "arranged" the applicants with a certificate of completion of the training, in order to increase the chances of receiving funding.
