Corruption in the supply of fuel to the Szczecin Power Plant. More people detained.

The CBA's Regional Office in Szczecin is conducting an investigation under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin regarding corruption in the supply of bioenergy fuel to a biomass-fired furnace for the Dolna Odra Power Plant Complex - Szczecin Power Plant. According to the CBA investigators and the prosecutor's office, in exchange for bribes, raw material was accepted that did not meet the quality requirements and technical standards. The employees responsible for the supervision of the quality of fuel confirmed that the trucks were filled with technically appropriate biomass, although in reality they were not.

At the request of the prosecutor, the CBA agents from Szczecin detained in Szczecin and the surrounding area 2 more suspects in this investigation: a businessman running a business in the field of bioenergy fuel production and supply, and a driver delivering a false biomass. They were already charged with corruption in the prosecutor's office.

Already earlier at the order of the prosecutor, the officers of the Central Anticorruption Bureau of the Regional Office in Szczecin detained 45 people in this part of the investigation, among others: businessmen and employees of the Dolna Odra Power Plant Complex - Szczecin Power Plant, truck drivers and representatives of biomass producers. The contemporary main power plant engineer was detained in the act of accepting a bribe of 50,000 zł. As a result of searches in the company's employees' rooms, over 100,000 zł was secured.

According to investigators' findings, the dealing could have caused losses of several million to the detriment of the State Treasury company - Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA.
