Detention of 7 persons, millionth PZPS's losses, in the background the organization of Men's Volleyball World Championship in 2014
The agents from the Katowice CBA Regional Office detained the former vice-president of PZPS, Artur P., two volleyball union activists and four entrepreneurs, who carried out orders for PZPS when organizing the volleyball world cup in 2014. The detentions took place in Warsaw, Opole and Wrocław. During the investigation, it was established that the detained entrepreneurs performed services related to the supervision and organization of the World Cup commissioned by the volleyball association. It would not be surprising if not for the fact, that the value of orders was significantly ramped up in relation to their real market price. Agents from Katowice determined, that the losses of PZPS amounted to not less than 3.8 million zlotys for these transactions.
Personal and capital ties between businessmen and high representatives of the volleyball federation only spice things up. The CBA officers searched their apartments, where they secured documents that are evidence in the case. The detainees will be transferred to the Masovian national prosecutor's office, where they will be charged with acting to the detriment of the Polish Volleyball Federation.
