A section clerk responsible for the purchase of medical equipment for a hospital in Bydgoszcz detained for corruption
An employee of the public procurement division of one of the hospitals in Bydgoszcz detained by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau and Military Gendarmerie.
The agents of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Bydgoszcz in cooperation with the local department of the Military Gendarmerie have detained an employee of a military hospital in Bydgoszcz. The man was one of the persons responsible for preparing and conducting public procurement procedures of the hospital. He was detained shortly after he had accepted a bribe in the amount of 20 thousand zlotys.
Findings of the investigators indicate that in return for material benefits, the section clerk responsible for the purchase of medical equipment assisted companies in obtaining orders for the delivery of medical equipment.
The officers have searched the place of work and residence of the detainee. Cash in the amount of approx. 100,000 zlotys, gold, documentation and electronic equipment of considerable value were secured.
The materials collected in the case were transferred to the District Prosecutor's Office in Bydgoszcz.
