Acting to the detriment of a coal mine KWK Centrum - 5 detainees
Five persons involved in the bid-rigging procedure and acting to the detriment of KWK Centrum were detained by the officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau
The agents of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Katowice have detained the former director of KWK Centrum, his deputy, currently holding the position of the vice-director in another branch of the Mine Restructuring Company S.A and three employees responsible for the preparation of tender documentation regarding the supply of dust emission equipment. The value of the order is approximately 7 million zlotys.
The activities were carried out at the request of the Silesian Terrain Division of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Katowice.
After the searches, the detainees were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office, where they were charged with bid-rigging, acting to the detriment of KWK Centrum which caused damage to the property in the amount of nearly 3 million zlotys, as well as with submitting unreliable documents of significant importance for one of the bidders to obtain the public procurement.
The ativities are related to the actions of the officers of the CBA from June 2017. At that time, the Vice-President of the Management Board of the Mine Restructuring Company S.A. Mirosław S. and the President of the Management Board of one of the companies related to mining were caught red-handed when accepting a material benefit.
Until now, 26 persons have been charged in the investigation. Over 800,000 zlotys have been secured for the future fines and penalties.
