Five persons detained by the CBA. The bank's damage estimated at over 186 million zlotys
Five more persons were detained by the CBA in connection with the investigation regarding acting to the detriment of SK Bank in Wołomin. This time the bank's damage is estimated at over 186 million zlotys.
The officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice have detained five persons, including a former director of the Katowice branch of SK Bank and four Silesian entrepreneurs. The detentions took place in Bytom and Warsaw.
All detainees will be transferred to the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, where they will be charged with acting to the detriment of SK Bank in Wołomin for over 186 million zlotys in connection with granting 6 credits to two companies from Bytom associated with each other.
These entities, as it has been determined in the course of the investigation, did not have debt capacity on the day the loan agreements were concluded and none of the credits was repaid. In the same thread of the investigation, today the Head of the Bank Branch in Gliwice will be also charged.
The investigation in this case was entrusted to the CBA by Prosecutor's Office in 2016. The proceedings concern the abuse of trust by the authorities of Spółdzielczy Bank Rzemiosła i Rolnictwa in Wołomin, keeping accounting books against the provisions of the act on accounting and providing in these books unreliable data, concealment of true and providing false information to NBP (National Bank of Poland).
Up to now, 115 persons have been charged. The bank's losses are estimated at about 2.7 billion zlotys.
