A current and a former employee of the court detained
A former director of the Court of Appeals in Wrocław and a current employee of this Court have been detained by the CBA. In the background nearly 2 million zlotys unlawfully disbursed, as well as civil law contracts signed contrary to the applicable regulations.
The officers of the Regional Office of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau have detained two persons, the former director of the Court of Appeals in Wroclaw and the HR department manager of this Court.
In the course of the investigation, it has been determined that the former director in the years 2016-2017 spent nearly 2 million zlotys in violation of the applicable law. Everything seems to indicate that he concluded with civil servants separate civil law contracts for performing services to the Court, which actually fell within th scope of duties of the same or other persons employed in this institution. Everything has been done without public procurement procedure, and in spite of internal regulations. These services concerned, inter alia, preparation of the draft of the Workplace Regulations of the Court of Appeal in Wrocław, systematization of documentation, or operation of the functioning of the Integrated Accounting and Human Resources Management System.
The detainees will be transferred to the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice where they will be charged.
